Job Description:
•Provides proactive safety and environmental leader****p by example.
•Performs system start-up and shut-down procedures.
•Coordinates and controls the incoming and outgoing wastes and all the
material movements within the premises.
•Monitors incoming and out going wastes through CCTV and conducts periodic
in-situ inspection of waste material.
•Completes required daily, monthly, and any other routine checks and
re****ts.
•Assists with the development, review and update of procedures and
training material for plant operations.
•Participates with technical and maintenance personnel in developing
innovative solutions to problems.
•Provides input into day-to-day and long term maintenance activities.
•Operates the plant in a manner that contributes to the achievement of
operational objectives, including systems
optimization.
•Stays current with applicable governmental regulations which may affect
operating philosophy and procedures.
•Participates in the continual improvement of plant operating methods.
•Ensures proper logs of equipment’s conditions are maintained as required
for proper ****ft handover, as determined by
Technical Team and the ****ft Team Leader.
•Other duties and activities as appropriate and necessary.
Mandatory Qualifications:
•Strong operations foundation including a sound technical knowledge of
Waste Management (treatment, handling,
etc.), Gas Engine operation, Gas Treatment, Steam Generation (would be an
asset), Piping, Pumping, General
Knowledge of Utilities Process, and instrumentation systems
•Experience in the operation of Power Generation Plants and Systems
•Experience in related industrial setting
•Ability to conceive innovative and cost effective solutions to problems
•Dedication to safe work and environmental responsibility
•Knowledge and experience in Power Generation Systems
•Well developed communication skills
•Ability to work in a flexible work environment
•Ability to work in a team environment
Desirable Qualifications:
•Experience in operating a Distributed Control System (DCS) would be an
asset
•Experience in process plant commissioning and start up would be an asset
Education Requirements:
•Minimum 4th Class Power Engineer Certification
