Cistel Technology has an immediate requirement for a Director of Product
Development. This is a permanent full-time position.

Role and Responsibilities
The Director—Product Development role is responsible for leading a team
of software engineers through complex software development projects from
architecture, through design and build to validation. The Product
Development Director acts as mentor, instructor, director and 'review
board' for the technical development team. He/She must have excellent
working relation****ps with staff, business partners and vendors to
ensure the organization is kept current on industry trends and available
technology.
Also, He/She must be technical enough to roll up sleeves.
Development projects include significant conceptual design, detailed
design, prototype , and implementation of Healthcare applications.
Project management responsibilities revolve around the ability to set
and achieve milestones.
This position involves close interaction with Product Marketing, key
customers, Sales, and Professional Services. A solid understanding of
scalable software applications architecture in Internet and wireless
technologies as well as the associated security standards is required.
This position re****ts to the CTO.
Duties Include:
• Lead the process of decision making related to product design
including planning, sourcing, costing, implementation, maintenance and
enhancement of product
• Drive the development of product architecture in such a way as to
ensure the performance criteria meets the currentand future needs of
targeted market segments
• Manage & schedule the day-to-day activities of members of the
developent team and provide leader****p, mentoring and guidance
• Plan and schedule product releases
• Contribute knowledge & experience to the product architecture, design
and development process
• Develop, implement, evolve and enforce “best practice” development
methodologies
• Identify and remain current on technology trends in relation to
potential system impacts
• Contribute to the management team by providing department business
plans, budgets, status re****ts etc
• Assist product management and marketing groups by providing relevant
information and do***entation which may be used in marketing and
pre-sales efforts
Mandatory Qualifications:
• Experience with Start-up Companies
• Experience leading large software development projects, and product
lifecycles
• A proven ability to size, schedule, manage and meet product release
cycles
• A proven ability to “team build” and provide a role model with focus
on “getting it done”
• Must have a solid technical background in Internet technologies –
J2EE, .NET, J2ME, SOAP, XML, Struts, Tomcat, Jboss, Hibernate, Java,
HTTP, AJAX, Java Swing, web services, ActiveX,Windows XP, Linux,
Blackberry
• Experience with distributed architectures, messaging, OO modeling and
design
• Experience in database modeling, design, data schemas – preferably
with MySql, SQL Server and Oracle
• Experience with development tools – such as the Eclipse etc.
Educational Requirement
• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and a minimum of
5 years experience in a relevant position
