currently looking for a highly motivated & technically seasoned Sr.
Oracle Database Administrator to make a real impact on daily
production operations for our client.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the evaluation and implementation of new features in
Oracle and functionality and performance tuning, troubleshooting and
issue resolution across complex 10g and 9i RAC and non RAC
environments
Responsible for analyzing, solving and creating solutions for
challenging performance tuning situations.
The Oracle DBA will also be responsible for all standard database
administrative tasks, such as: trouble-shooting, back-up and recovery,
partitioning, replication, installations and configurations on an as
needed basis as well as applying patches and upgrades.
Perform ongoing database administration, maintenance, troubleshooting,
tuning, installation, backup/recovery, and data migration of Oracle
databases running on UNIX servers.
Work closely with the Software Development staff to design and
implement systems that leverage the Oracle Server technology.
Take on call and ****ft duty for 24x7 sup****t schedule.
Requirements:
Minimum of 7+ years experience performing Oracle administration
including version 8, 9 and 10.
Strong knowledge with UNIX Shell programming.
Proven experience with Oracle features such as RAC, RMAN, Data Guard,
partitioning, streams, replication, and parallel processing.
Demonstrated strong working experience of database administration,
backup and recovery, modeling, tuning, monitoring, and security within
the last 3 years.
Solid understanding of database and data warehouse design.
B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field.
Skills:
Oracle 9i and / or 10g database administration experience
Experience with Oracle features (RAC, Data Guard, Streams,
replication, partitioning)
STATSPACK, ASM, and/or Quest Spotlight
PL/SQL and SQL tuning
Oracle RMAN and various backup/recovery methods
Solaris 8 and above
Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1+
UNIX shell programming
