Database Engineer
1. configuring, installing and maintaining multiple database instances
(standalone and RAC), 2. sup****ting monitoring tools, 3. performance
tuning, upgrading database application software, completing database
replication, data backup and recovery procedures, 4. reorganizing
tables and indexes, 5. application tuning using Oracle Enterprise
Manager and other tools, 6. performing database space/capacity
management and 7. performing error analysis, remediation and
prevention, and 8. developing and reviewing database structures,
standards, and procedures for adherence to standards.
Required Skills:
* Minimum 8+ years Oracle database administration experience. * Be
able to demonstrate full competency and currency with respect to
Oracle DBA duties in a mixed Solaris/Linux environment. * Proficiency
in Oracle 10g RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard and Enterprise Manager. *
Proficiency in PL/SQL and SQL. * Extensive experience in schema
management, tablespace, datafile and extent management, as well as
user and privilege management. * Experience monitoring Oracle RDMS
availability, database ex****ts, table space, and extents re****ts. *
Experience with DB Diagnostic and monitoring tools (OEM). *
Proficiency in navigating in UNIX and Linux environments. * Must have
strong inter-personal and communication skills for regular interaction
with upper management, serving as liaison for vendors and suppliers
and providing customer sup****t in a multi-application/multi-platform
environment/multi-location. * Must have ability to write and present
technical do***entation and papers to a diverse audience that includes
customers, clients, professional peers and management. * Must be
flexible and able to work off-hours as needed to sup****t system
upgrades and/or special events
Desired Skills:
=A7 Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Professional (OCP).
Note: If the selected candidate does not have this certification, it
will be required within 1 year of the hire date.
=A7 Certification as an Oracle Database 10: Administering Real
Application Clusters
Note: If the selected candidate does not have this certification, it
will be required within 18 months of the hire date.
Required Education(including Major):
* BS degree and minimum 8+ years Oracle database administration
experience. * Advanced degrees (Masters and/or PhD) with 6+ years will
be considered.
