Associate Supplier Quality Engineer
# Responsibilities: Instill a "zero defect" mindset to achieve product
quality that meets or exceeds customer requirements # Drive Continuous
improvement at suppliers by managing defined quality initiatives #
Apply data driven analysis and systematic problem-solving
methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and
resolving quality issues # Team cross-functionally to ensure DFMA
(Design for Manufacture & Assembly), DFx (Test, Service, etc) # Ensure
timely disposition of non-conforming material, Quality Notifications,
Supplier Corrective Action Requests and/or CAPA # Team with global
sourcing commodity managers and purchasing engineers (i.e., provide
input for supplier selection activities including supplier evaluation
and onsite supplier audits) # Evaluate ECNs # Utilize risk-based
approach in establi****ng and executing material qualification plans #
Perform Quality System and Process Audits of current suppliers
including re****ting, follow-up and closure of nonconformance # Partner
with Product Engineering, Process Control / Mfg Engineering, and
Manufacturing Quality Assurance # Ensure timely disposition of field
returns # Update supplier quality metrics, take appropriate action to
adverse quality trends # PPM management for assigned commodity #
Maintain knowledge of current technologies and future trends
Requirements: # B.S. in a technical field of study, required; MS
Engineering or Statistics # 1+ years experience in supplier quality,
quality engineering, manufacturing engineering # Desired knowledge of
plastics/metal forming processes and associated tooling # Knowledge of
Electromechanical Devices and Functioning, statistical methods and use
of statistical software package (MINITAB, SAS, etc), and process
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, SPC,
Capability Studies, DOE, Gage R&R, DFx # Domestic and possible
international travel (approximately 30%) and the ability to travel on
short notice.
