Software Engineer II
Essential Duties and Responsibilities =95 Proficient in aspects of
software design, development, debug and test =95 Strong programming
knowledge in at least one of the following o C/C++ o Java o Python/
Perl =95 Working knowledge of Linux/Unix =95 Working knowledge of modern,
iterative software design processes and development practices
including test-driven development =95 Working knowledge of object-
oriented design methodologies including design patterns and UML =95 Some
knowledge in one or more of the following: STL, Qt, Boost, XML and XML
schemas =95 Maintain existing software applications =95 Participates in
on-
going professional development activities =95 Willingness and ability to
assume increased responsibility =95 Performs other related duties as
assigned
Other Skills and Abilities: =95 Experience building medium to large size
C++ applications/libraries =95 Experience developing GUI applications. =95
Other technologies o Scripting (Python, Perl, shell) o OpenGL o Linux
distros (Redhat, Ubuntu, SuSE, etc.) o External Communication (RS-232,
TCP/IP, wireless) =95 Ability to function well under pressure and expend
effort to meet schedules and deadlines =95 Team oriented and personable.
Strong oral and written communication skills =95 Experience developing
medical devices =95 Experience building image guided surgical
applications =95 Presents a professional image. =95 Willingness and
ability to travel domestic and internationally as necessary
Basic Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer
Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 3+ years of related
software development experience (preferably in the medical industry).
