refinery and manufacturing customers. By applying leading edge
'industrial mining' technology, we reclaim base materials and precious
metals for re-use, transforming one company's waste problem into
another companies source of raw material. Currently, Advanced
Recycling Technology Inc. is looking for a uniquely talented
individual to serve as Lab Manager for its Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
production facility. Located within driving distance of most of the
major urban centers in the Northeast, Chambersburg maintains a strong
economy, a small town feeling and a low cost of living. As Lab
Manager, you will design, lead and implement research and development
projects using hydrometallurgical and chemical processes. The
candidate must have a combination of managerial and technical
abilities. The lab manager will be responsible for connecting R&D with
op****tunities for improving the P&L of the company.
The candidate's primary responsibility will be in laboratory
management. Duties will include:
* Approval of materials according to regulatory,
scientific/process and financial factors
* Maintains all do***entation required by regulatory agencies
* Implements new procedures as needed to ensure compliance with
state regulations and all regulatory agencies
* Develop formulas to produces reclaimed metals concentrates for
specific end users
* Performing QC assays, applying and maintaining specifications,
managing the validation of analytical methods, and writing Standard
Operating Procedures. The Lab Manager is responsible for comprehensive
management of the recording of test results, and management of the
entry of data into computer systems for tracking purposes.
* Management of basic instrument troubleshooting,
general/preventative instrument maintenance, and laboratory equipment/
upkeep.
* Organizes test schedules for the most cost effective and highest
quality production of results.
* Develops and *****ses analytical procedures. Determines or
directs feasibility studies of new procedures to ensure accuracy,
regulatory compliance and cost effectiveness.
In addition to laboratory management, the candidate will sup****t the
production and sales/marketing teams. These duties will include:
* Sup****t the sales and marketing to determine laboratory response
to customer needs.
* Sup****t the design and implementation of new recycling
processes at the facility
* Sup****t performance gains in process efficiencies
Qualifications:
* Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
based on business need and available resources.
* Understands basics of environmental compliance and working with
EPA and DEP oversight
* At least 5 years of applied expertise in inorganic chemistry in
an industrial setting
* Capability to perform systemic root cause analysis and problem
resolution.
* Basic computer skills
* BS or MS in chemistry or engineering
* Minimum of 10 years or related experience
Desired Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing and production in the
environmental and/or metal industry
* Understanding of sizing, drying and blending operations
* At least 5 years of manager level experience in a lab setting
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
