QUALIFICATIONS
The Senior Network Analyst should demonstrate experience in the tasks/
activities described below.
General Experience
The consultant will assume the role to replace the head network
consultant.
100% Cisco Shop=96 approx 500 network devices=85..almost all the
client=92s
employees have Cisco CCIE or CCNP certifications with experience (10+
years) Strong on Cisco Routing & Switch =96 Particularly on Catalyst
6500, 4500, 3750 Good Knowledge/Experience with Cisco FWSM & Cisco IDS
Strong on Networks Planning, ISP negotiations, etc Our client is
keenly looking for an avid team player that=92s willing to take on some
extra responsibilities and duties outside of the job description
Project Description: Network Upgrade Project Our client located in
Ottawa has a requirement for professional services of a Senior Network
Analyst to carry out work on the Network Upgrade project.
The Network Upgrade project is a renewal / replacement of the existing
network. The network provides connectivity to all desktop computers
and lab computers to connect them to on-site resources, the Internet
and external research networks.
This program is comprised of the installation of new network hardware,
network management systems, upgrade of wiring infrastructure, and
construction and renovations of facilities to sup****t the new network
infrastructure.
The interaction will include, but not be limited to:
=95Design and develop network architecture; *****s the viability and
scalability of network designs.
=95Provide in-depth analysis on network inter-operability, topologies,
technologies, interfaces and protocols.
=95Plan and develop implementation strategies for new communications
technology and services (i.e. convergence of voice and data networks,
etc).
=95Participate in the strategic planning process for network technology
infrastructure.
=95Review, analyze and test new communications technologies and
recommend deployment within the production environment, or in response
to a specific need.
=95Recommend, develop and do***ent standards for network design, and
network components.
=95Provide input into the development of business cases, cost / benefit
analysis, and feasibility studies, including pricing of network
services.
=95Develop the implementation, cutover, integration or inter-operability
plans as buildings are migrated to the new network. Provide Bill of
Material of required network components for campus buildings as they
are migrated to the new network.
=95Recommend network security standards, procedures and processes to
sup****t a multi-protocol network. Recommend appropriate policy for
network use; identify technology that enables policy enforcement.
=95Participate in on-going information technology planning to understand
client requirements and priorities for communications technology.
=95Consult with, staff and students on basic and advanced network
issues; provide specialized and technical advice to other network
specialists; resolve problems as appropriate.
=95Review and analyze client requirements and design communication
networks that meet the needs of clientele.
=95Recommend, develop network management tools to proactively manage the
day-to-day network operations.
=95Analyze network trend re****ts, and implement performance enhancements
or changes.
=95Other related projects and tasks as assigned.

=95Experience implementing network QoS to sup****t time / delay sensitive
traffic streams such as VoIP and Video Conferencing
