Our Halifax client=92s applications are written in Java and Delphi/.NET
using Sybase, Oracle, Websphere, IBM Data Stage, SmartStream, ICE and
other vendor products. Their systems operate globally on 24/7 basis.
As Senior Developer, your role is to participate in the incremental
development of their critical new initiatives. This is a demanding
role within a fast paced business unit requiring attention to detail,
ability to quickly learn new technology, the business of fund
operations and fund accounting and ability to work in a global team
environment.
Bottom line..they want a Really Really good Developer who has
strong .Net and C#...

Required Skills:
- 4+ years of experience in C# programming
- Deep understanding of .NET platform
- Fundamental knowledge of Windows Forms
- Fundamental knowledge of .NET platform tools and utilities
- Fundamental knowledge of MS Visual Studio
- Knowledge of existing Third Party libraries
- At least 3 years of experience in ANSI SQL and SQL tuning
- Knowledge of Windows and windows API
- Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols
- Working knowledge of XML
Nice to Have Skills:
- Java experience (core Java, J2EE, WAS)
- C++ experience
- UNIX platform knowledge
- ICE platform knowledge
- Knowledge of VSTO
- Experience with Hedge Funds or Mutual Funds is a +
- Fixed Income, Derivatives, OTC instruments, Prime Brokerage or
trading is a +
- WebService integration experience
Other:
- OO design patterns a plus
- Good do***entation skills are a must
- Experience in a software development environment with high quality
assurance standards is required
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
