Position Title: Project Manager
Re****ts to: Director, Program Development Management
Position Description: The Project Manager is responsible for
organizing, scheduling, follow up, problem resolution and status
re****ting on systems development projects, as assigned, to ensure that
each is completed on time and within budget, that the deliverables
meet requirements and that the project follows IT standards and
frameworks for project management and development methodology.
Bringing substantial experience in the process improvement, the
Project Manager will liaise with all members of the project team and
manage both the project and process improvements within the scope of
the project, by improving do***entation templates, procedures, etc.
The Project Manager will assure the project is properly recorded in
the Niku Clarity system, our choice for a Project ****tfolio Management
tool. In addition, the Project Manager will initiate general
recommendations for process improvements and assist with the
implementation of those improvements within projects assigned and will
collaborate with other project managers in this regard.
Responsibilities:
Manage projects as assigned by the Program Development Manager, which
will include the following activities:
Initiate new projects with project sponsors, stakeholders and team
members. Define and receiving management approval for project
governance. Do***ent scope, benefits, approach, risks and
constraints.
Prepare, maintain and publish project budgets, including all time and
materials expenses, such as hardware, software, development and
sup****t resources, etc. Collect, trend and re****t key project
management metrics for measuring performance using Time Tracking
System, and other sources of project costs.
Develop, communicate and coordinate project plans, schedules and
resource allocation with Development Managers, project team members
and other groups within IT as required. Update project plans and
publish changes as project progresses through development process.
Ensure each phase of the Project Management Framework is completed to
standards by using prescribed checklists and other tools to ensure
thoroughness and by obtaining Development Management approvals as
needed.
Identify op****tunities for process improvements based on CMM-style
*****sments and implementation of development methodology improvements
based on Rational Unified Process. Work with project team members as
directed by Manager to implement such improvements.
Help implement best practices, and other objectives as set by the IT
Governance Department.
Coordinate the engagement of other IT constituencies, such as EDP
Audit, Global Sup****t Organization, Global Architecture, and
Production Management.
Identification and communication or project risks, and the development
of risk mitigation strategies and escalation procedures.
Assistance with requirements gathering, do***entation, prototyping and
walk-throughs, as required.
Coordinate definition and institution of service level agreements
(SLA's) for internal and external service providers by application and
location.
Engage QA Testing Team and assure timely completion.
Coordinate with Production Management the planning for UAT Testing
Team and assure timely completion.
Assure proper planning for production server redundancy and provisions
for failover to Disaster Recovery site.
Coordinate with Production Management preparation for deployment and
on-going sup****t by the designated sup****t personnel. Assure that
all required do***entation is provided to Operations and Data Center
personnel and that both groups have signed off that they are
prepared.
Coordinate with Production Management the cross-application testing,
synchronization of test environments and communication of status
integrated applications systems.
Experience Required
5+ years experience in project management of systems development
projects
2+ years experience in a leader****p role in systems development
process improvement based on RUP and/or CMM.
Experience with Requisite Pro, Rational Rose and other integrated
development tools from IBM Rational for requirements management,
traceability, development of Use Cases, etc. a plus
2+ years experience with automated testing and defect tracking tools.
Candidate MUST possess technology experience in Fund Accounting and /
or Investment Accounting in the asset management (traditional or
alternative (Hedge Fund)) businesses.
PMI Certification a plus
Experience with Niku's Clarity system (project ****tfolio management) a
plus.
