LeverageTek urgently requires the services of a Project Manager for
their Ottawa based client.
Our client is implementing a Payroll Management improvement project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project
management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle and will
ensure the successful completion of the project.
Responsibilities
Manage project planning sessions to establish scope, assumptions,
constraints, deliverables, interim milestones, work breakdown
structure and timelines
Develop the work breakdown structure to facilitate communication with
team members and stakeholders
Utilize Microsoft Project Server to capture and re****t on the status
of each project including all tasks and resource utilization
Prepare the detail project schedule based on best practices scheduling
techniques
Setup the issue log, risk log and other sup****ting project
do***entation based on size and complexity of project
Establish and manage the project communication plan for stakeholders
Establish the project control and monitoring guidelines
Analyze project variances and prepare action / recovery plans as
appropriate
Prepare weekly status updates including updates on top issues, risks
and variances
Actively promote best practices and project management competency
Ensure all the technical guidelines and standards are adhered to
Qualifications
Experience in managing PeopleSoft, HRIS, or payroll management
implementations
Strong team player
High level of adaptability to changing environment
5 or more years of recently demonstrated project management competency
as a project manager for IT projects
Post secondary education or equivalent combination of education/
experience
Experience with Microsoft Project Professional
Coaching and mentoring skills
Experience supervising resources
Demonstrated influencing and issue resolution abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, at ease in group
presentations
Excellent organizational skills
Analytical and problem solving skills
PMP certification and experience with Microsoft Project Server would
be an asset
Start Date: Mid =96 August
Duration: 6-8 months
