Database Administrator
* Data Management
o Maintain data integrity through routine execution of data management
procedures o Continuously look to improve data management processes o
Work with disparate clients to identify and implement data management
processes o Provide database expertise and sup****t to clients data
management processes o Pro-actively ***** database tables and
tablespaces for optimal space usage o Write SQL, PL/SQL and UNIX
scripts to fulfill data management requirements o Promote Database
solutions from source to target Databases
* Database Architecture o Assist in planning logical and physical
database architectures o Install and configure database management
systems o Assist in version/patch upgrades to RDBMS o Pro-actively
monitor and adjust database parameters and sup****t structures
* Database Performance and Reliability
o Assist in defining backup strategies including archiving, replication
and standby DB o Assist in database tuning activities including SQL
statement optimization o Work with clients to diagnose and correct
failure conditions o Create table, schema and entire DB ex****ts
* Client Projects
o Participate in project meetings to focus on and identify database
requirements o Assist in developing/refining entity relation****p
diagrams in conjunction with developers o Create database objects to
sup****t client project requirements
* Database Team Projects
o Assist in continuously improving Database methods and practices o
Identify and communicate value add process improvements to database
team o Participate in lunch and learn presentations o Adhere to and
suggest improvements to do***entation and naming standards
Required Skills:
* Degree or Diploma in Computer Science
* 1+ years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in an
Internet environment
* 1+ years knowledge of Oracle tools, stored procedures, triggers,
tuning, backup and recovery, AQL abilities, PL/SQL, as well as thorough
knowledge of RDBMS concepts
* Working on or have achieved Oracle Certified Professional (8i min.
DBA) certification
* Good do***entation, communication and presentation skills
* Experience with modeling tools (ERWIN, Oracle Designer, ER Studio),
UNIX Shell scripting (KSH, BASH, CSH), writing SQL Loader control
files, TOAD, OEM and ETL concepts
