SQA Engineer
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
* The candidate MUST have working knowledge and experience with TCP/
IP, RIP/OSPF/BGP, IP Multicast, SNMP, and Network Management as well
as the testing process and product cycle with formal testing
methodologies.
* Experience with white box/API testing in an integration test role is
a strong plus.
* Understands company goals and practices and applies them when
resolving problems.
* Receives general instructions on new work.
* The successful candidate will use good judgement, creativity, solid
project management skills (communication, planning, and time
management), innovation and sound technical knowledge to obtain
solutions. Analysis is complex and requires input from multiple
sources and innovative problem solving.
* The candidate will interface occasionally with senior management.
* This in***bent exercises judgment within generally defined practices
and policies to solve problems that have no clear parameters; notifies
appropriate individuals or managers as decisions are made; decisions
typically involve coordination of resources.
* Discusses and presents information and issues within Foundry and
externally.
* Viewed as a resource within the organization.
* Negotiates with customers and colleagues.
* Influences others to achieve objectives.
* Drive automation improvements, processes and the development of new
test suites.
* Incor****ate user requests for new automation test cases or harness
enhancements.
Degrees and Required Skills:
* Years of specific experience required: 10+ yrs.
* Degrees, experience or expertise candidate must have to be
qualified:
BSCS required, MSCS preferred.
* Min 10+ years general experience required.
* Min 4-8 years specific experience in software performance or system
testing with at least 3 years experience conducting software testing
in a networking infrastructure environment utilizing standard network
test tools and practices.
* Previous experience with network hardware, routers and switches as
well as routing protocols, network diagnostic tools and network
traffic simulation tools necessary.
* Knowledge of key products, features and functionality; the ability
to leverage previous testing activities, plans and test cases; and the
ability to evaluate software specifications including RFCs in order to
develop appropriate test plans and cases essential.
* Expertise in developing automated test programs is mandatory. *
Additional desired qualifications: (Ideal but not required;
experience, background, skills.) * Programming experience with C and
scripting languages (Shell, TCL/TK, Perl, Expect) required.
