SOFTWARE QA/TEST ENGINEER
This position re****ts directly to the VP of Product Development.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for the testing, validation
and evaluation of software, web applications, features, fixes and 3rd
party applications, ensuring conformance to defined features and
functionality and client expectations. * Create overall test strategy
and protocols from requirements do***ents or change request do***ents.
* Execute test protocols of changes to determine adequacy and
correctness. * Validate changes to ensure they are correctly
incor****ated in the product software or business application software
to resolve issues. * Create and maintain Alpha and Beta test groups
and the collection and analysis of software quality assurance data to
record performance, effectiveness, and improvement recommendations. *
Evaluate client or user complaints/issues on software products to
determine validity of complaints. * Define issue causes, potential
work-arounds and solutions to complaints received by the Help Desk. *
Participate in software change control process. * Sup****t 1st, 2nd and
3rd tier help desk and sup****t teams by * Communication: communicates
changes to team members in a timely manner; confidently asks questions
to clarify competencies and to move project forward.
REQUIREMENTS:
You must be a match to ALL of the following to be considered for job

* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or demonstrable equivalent
experience. * A minimum of four years of experience in testing and
validation of software products at unit, module and system level is
required (web-based applications a plus). * Skilled in testing and
test planning for web-services architecture (SOA) and must have the
ability to independently setup client/server/network test lab
environments including configuring hardware and troubleshooting
switches, routers, hubs, server settings, etc. * Experience using
software QA methodologies (CSQE certified preferred). * Experience
with digital display technology and digital signage a plus. *
Experience with image and video playback and codecs a plus. *
Experience with desktop builds and hardware required. * Experience
with Windows Server and .NET is a plus . * Client-Server software
backend test plan and execution experience are required, as is
experience independently installing, configuring and testing Microsoft
Windows server and application software. * Experience testing
relational database (SQL Server) applications is required, as is
knowledge of XML, SOAP, Web Service technologies. * Familiarity with
client /server software design, remotely executing software, database
design, and network distribution software. * Must analyze software
architecture and software requirement specification. * Strong
conceptual and analytical skills in programming methodologies are
needed. * Attention to Detail/Order & Organization: meets project
deadlines by managing time and priorities; takes responsibility for
details and consistency. * Problem solving/troubleshooting:
Anticipates and identifies potential op****tunities and obstacles;
thoroughly investigates problems. * Experience with North Plains
Systems Telescope 7.xx and 8.xx products a plus. * Experience working
effectively with teams. * Excellent communications skills with the
ability to work independently are needed. * French language ability a
plus.
