This position combines technical work with creative vision to
pursue innovative op****tunities for the design and development of
cutting-edge sensor systems for DOD and commercial applications.
GA Photonics is seeking an individual capable of guiding
“proof-of-concept” or early-stage R&D projects to operational
design and construction through a disciplined application of
systems engineering concepts including system conceptualization,
modeling, analysis, specification, and do***entation. Initial
projects include targeting, advanced communications, and various
LIDAR sensors. Primary responsibilities will include:
Transforming ambiguous customer needs into explicit design
criteria, Conceptualize and define, through requirements and
specifications, the integration of various ~‘kernel” technologies
into complex operational systems, and modeling & analysis of
these developing systems to optimize performance and flexibility
to meet demanding customer requirements. Participation in
business development strategy and group direction will be
developed as appropriate. The successful applicant will join a
growing research and development group actively pursuing new
projects and thus must be a person who has initiative,
willingness to take on responsibility for development tasks, and
a desire for growth and op****tunity across a variety of

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<br> Scientist/Engineer: BS and 3-7 years
experience or MS in technical field (Math, Physics,
Engineering).<br> A keen intellect and the ability to rapidly
grasp/formulate complex ideas.<br> Superior written language and
presentation skills.<br> Ability to communicate effectively with
other members of the Sensor Group and the scientific user
community.<br> <br> DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:<br> BS, MS, or PhDs
in multiple, diverse technical fields — especially aerospace
related<br> Experience in numerical/system modeling (MATLAB,
MathCad, Maple, C/C++, other)<br> Experience with systems
engineering in government contracts or aerospace systems<br>
Experience with aerospace or sensor systems: specification,
design, integration, and/or do***entation.<br> Experience writing
and directing written proposals for government or commercial R&D
contract work.<br> Experience with
