DESCRIPTION:
Director- Logistics & Materials Management
Directs all aspects of logistics and materials management for a biomedical
company by overseeing activities related to material purchase, material
control, inventory control, warehouse functions, ****pping, receiving
and assignment of materials throughout the company.
Develops, implements and maintains company manufacturing/materials
policies,
procedures and material control systems. Ensures materials are ordered
and
meet company standards / requirements while maintaining acceptable
inventory
levels. Develops material schedules, coordinates the movement of
materials
with purchasing and production. All duties performed within complete
regulatory compliance: GMP, OSHA, Federal, State, etc. Direct
supervision of
personnel in warehouse, materials management, purchasing departments.
Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure efficiency of job
functions.
Responsibilities:
· Provides supply chain leader****p to ensure expectations are met
regarding:
delivery, quality, inventory, and cost targets.
· Oversees the development of master & detailed production schedules.
· Coordinate, prioritize raw material flow.
· Ensure materials are ordered and IN stock to meet company needs;
maintain
acceptable inventory levels.
· Develop production schedules and coordinate the flow of raw materials,
product samples and final product.
· Track product control system from start to final product.
· Assists production in plant capacity evaluation
· The position works closely with production, R & D, quality, finance to
meet
department and company goals within budget.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree with relevant management experience
10+ years experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology/medical device
setting.
Strong Experience in a Quality Control and cGMP environment.
Other abilities:
· Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands,
reaching
with arms.
· Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
· Lifting up to 50 lbs.
· Occasionally works near moving or mechanical parts.
· Occasionally works with toxic or caustic chemicals.
· Environment may have fumes or airborne particles.
· Works with biohazardous materials.
· Vision requirements include: close, color perception, peripheral, depth
and
ability to focus.
· Noise conditions range from quiet to moderate.
