Composite Technician (Tooling) - SB611-2295<br> <br> Build
composite tools and assembly fixtures per specifications, using
blueprints or sketches and be able to perform close tolerance
work. Fabrications and assembly of composite parts using epoxy
resins, fiberglass and Kevlar fabrics, structural adhesives,
rivets, threaded and blind fasteners. Trimming of composite
parts per blueprint tolerances. Drilling of close tolerance
holes. Follow Planning and accurately fill out and complete work
orders with Assemblies. Shaping of wood, nomex honeycomb,
various foams and other materials. Assist in the development of
shop aids to facilitate fabrication, trimming and assembly as
required. Operate vacuum press when required. May make
continuity checks on work in progress and may monitor and verify
quality in accordance with statistical process or other control
procedures.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
High school diploma or AA degree or equivalent with up to four
years or more of related experience or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Ability to read and
comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos,
detailed blueprints and other similar authorized drawings and
do***ents. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all
units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals. Must be able to become certified to wear a respirator
and be able to work in a loud environment. Must be able to use
hand tools such as rollers, paper cutters, scissors, exacto
knives, electric heat gun and fixtures such as molds and
mandrels. Ability to use calipers, micrometers and precision
scales. Experience in vacuum bagging laminates. Physically able
to perform layup, trim, cutting and sanding operations as well as
lift tools and assembli
