DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
This person works under the general supervision of an assigned IT
manager and is responsible for overall design, maintenance, and
security of the company's relational databases. Perform daily
monitoring and administration of database systems and applications as
well as periodic performance tuning. 2. Maintain do***entation on
enterprise data models, data dictionaries, physical database
configuration, and daily database maintenance functions. Development of
complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers. institute,
monitor, and test database administration procedures including backup
and recovery. Provide planning and budgetary information to the Manager
and Director for the effective use of database resources toward the
resolution of business issues and development initiatives. May provide
technical sup****t and project leader****p for projects. This individual
will work closely with all members of the IT sup****t team. Working with
minimal supervision is a very im****tant facet of this position. Perform
additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned
from time to time. Typical Physical Demands: Requires verbal and
written communications skills, particularly to speak clearly and
concisely to technical staff, outside contacts, and company employees
at all levels; ability to use office equipment, such as a personal
computer, telephone; ability to lift and handle, objects weighing up to
50 lbs., such as computer equipment for the purpose of installation or
repair. Typical Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office
environment and may require sitting at a workstation for long periods
of time. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
or a closely related field or an Associates degree in computer Science
and 3 to 5 years experience in relational database design, maintenance,
and security; or any combination of education and experience which
enables one to perform the essential job functions. Special
Requirements: Qualified candidates must possess working experience with
Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database systems-Experience with
Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems is required. Experience
with Pervasive or mySQL database a plus. Concurrent internal and
external recruitment.
