Position #:  HSL204XC1111d

Hutchinson Smiley Limited requires the services of a number of skilled
professional with strong and extensive LAN, WAN, HelpDesk, operating
systems and software experience to assist one of our clients on a
contract basis.

This contract is based in Sudbury, Ontario and will cover the North
Eastern Region of Ontario.

This assignment will involve providing technical sup****t, LAN/WAN and
Helpdesk services to sup****t a wide range of application systems and
processing environments.

These assignments are scheduled to begin in late November 2004 and
will have an initial duration of 7.5 months, renewable.

Activities and Deliverables:

The selected consultants will be responsible for sup****ting the user
desktops, the project servers and the network as well as application
systems sup****ting the client oreganization. The consultant will need
to be adept at troubleshooting in a Microsoft based network
environment and the associated packaged/custom software applications.

Specific responsibilities of the Technical Sup****t Specialist will
include but will not be limited to:

Installing the technical environment and providing technical sup****t
for desktops, servers, LANs, applications software and performing
environment backups.
Implementing and sup****ting MS Office, development, and testing tools
to be used by the project team.
Identifying the cause of problems and troubleshooting them as well as
providing recommendations to end-users
Maintenance of hardware
Ensuring that networks and connections are fully operational
Identifying router problems
Interfacing and working with a diverse group of end-users to identify
and correct problems and issues


Mandatory Skills & Requirements:

The successful candidate will have at least three (3) years of
experience in providing specialized technological sup****t in the
implementation of a computing environment. The candidate will provide
sup****t in an environment that consists of primarily Microsoft Windows
desktop and server LAN/WAN components. The Technical Sup****t
Specialist will be required to conduct research activities in sup****t
of the senior architects and sup****t the overall project team.

The successful candidate must have the following skills and
experience.

Experience with Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP Pro operating
systems.
Experience with MicroSoft Office 97/2000/XP office suite
Experience with Anti-Virus software (McAfee)
Experience with Adobe Acrobat, MS Project, Cognos
(PowerPlay/Impromptu), WinfaxPro, PCAnywhere
Experience with PKI software (Entrust)
Experience with AecServe (DLT/SDLT)
Experience with Intel platforms.
Experience with middleware and gateways.
Experience at the specified level of proficiency in setting up user
access and user profiles, backup and recovery, and day-to-day computer
systems operations.
Experience with one or more telecommunications protocols.
Knowledge of emerging IT technologies and trends.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills;
verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills.
A team player with a track record for meeting strict deadlines.
Knowledge of network topology.
