Job Title: IT Enterprise Architect - Infrastructure (Toronto - Downtown
Salary to $97K (base) max

Bonuses will be 25 % this year

The IT Enterprise Architect - Infrastructure/Security will be responsible
for defining the target technology architecture and associated roadmaps
globally along with creating an overall security framework for managing IT
risks . This includes acting as a key interface point to  and as a result
for facilitating alignment and integration with the architectural
direction.

This role will have accountability for defining the global technology
direction and associated standards, policies, and models asociated with
the
entire technology stack - consisting of technology required to sup****t
general infrastructure requirements (e.g., e-mail, file sharing, desktop
computing) as well as hardware and software infrastructure for enterprise
data and applications (e.g., DBMS, servers, networks, application server
software, data warehousing, etc.) - for  IT. Ultimately the group will
determine the IT strategic roadmap and direct future IT investment,
working
through the IT CRMS (customer service managers) to define the series of
projects and the IT delivery teams (Business Services and Infrastructure)
to
make the target a reality.

The Enterprise Architecture & Security group is new, so a key focus for
the
short-term will be in creating the baseline assets and building the
capability.  The Enterprise Architecture roles are central within IT
structure. They will have visibilty and guide the other areas within the
IT
team: CRM, Business Services and Infrastructure. Enterprise Architects
will
need to be strong communicators - comfortable interacting with management
levels from across the organization both in information exchange as well
as
influence and negotiation.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
·        Working in collaboration with IT technical leads defines
architectural strategies, standards, models, roadmaps and manages
technology
lifecycle for applications development, technology infrastructure,
integration and security
·        Key contributor to the definition of architecture governance
policies, principles, standards and rules that govern  technology and
system
architecture
·        Execute governance of enterprise architecture processes across a
global organization, which include:
·        Acting as custodian of IT Enterprise Architecture;
·        Working with Business Solutions, Technical Infrastructure and CRM
to propose solution architecture direction and to ensure solution
architecture compliance
·        Defines and facilitates the technology innovation process, which
includes:
·        Seeking out and proposing the optimal uses of new or existing
technologies to various groups
·        Identification and inventory of reusable components and
capabilities
·        Leveraging technology research and leading proofs-of-concept
·        Provide on-going direction to project teams in the
architecture/design of IT solutions - Lead solution architecture for key
strategic IT projects
·        Role-related travel is expected to be 20%-25%

QUALIFICATIONS:
·        University degree in information technology, computer science, or
equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
·        Superior skills of influencing, negotiation, diplomacy
·        Superior analytical/problem solving ability; Superior critical
thinking skills
·        Creative, independent thinking skills
·        Strong verbal and written communication skills; Strong skills in
presenting
·        Able to work under constantly changing conditions and tight
deadlines
·        Manage multiple goals and deadline
·        Culturally and organizationally astute
§ Seasoned IT professional with broad knowledge of IT technology trends,
emerging practices and standards



Must Have Skills
§ Minimum of 8 years progressive experience in IT and enterprise
architecture
§ Considerable depth in IT architecture in technical infrastructure;
servers, networks, communications, data centres, virtualization, etc.
§ Extensive experience in defining architecture for enterprise solutions
as
well as technical design and methodology definition
§ In-depth knowledge of business strategy definition/requirements


Nice To Have Skills
§ In-depth understanding of business applications used by the natural
resources / mining industry
§ Experience using Enterprise Architecture Frameworks such as Zachmann,
TOGAF, etc. in defining an enterprise architecture for an organization
§ Knowledge of IT governance models (around architecture assurance,
program
and ****tfolio management, IT procurement, etc.)
