Duties and responsibilities:
=95 Provide leader****p, vision and management to the IT department
=95 Develop goals, initiatives, strategies, and actions relating to
productivity, reliability & business continuity, scalability,
security, resiliency and fault tolerance
=95 Ensure stability and security of services and equipment, including
lifecycle planning, for networks, servers, shared and hosted services
(Web, FTP, database, Exchange, Active Directory, proprietary),
cor****ate applications, wireless and telecommunications
infrastructures
=95 Analyze requirements, recommend technologies, implement installation
and maintenance plans, analyze and adapt availability and capacity
(performance, bandwidth, uptime, etc)
=95 Evaluate, manage and maintain service level for internal and
production systems, re****t metrics including performance and
reliability to CTO
=95 Ensure creation and tracking of do***entation for IT policies and
procedures such as disaster recovery scenarios and other operations
guides.
=95 Contribute to annual IT budget planning and management
=95 Manage enterprise-wide back-up strategy in alignment with cor****ate
governance standards
=95 Participate in technology-based projects
=95 Manage hardware, software and IT assets inventory
=95 Recruit, coach, motivate, provide knowledge transfer and evaluate
your technical team to deliver the high levels of user satisfaction
=95 Perform security audits, implement and maintain IT security
(intrusion detection, firewall performance, virus and spam protection,
etc)
=95 Participate in and coordinate 24x7 cell phone sup****t
=95 Perform a variety of duties related to network monitoring and
capacity management
=95 Perform tasks such as scheduled changes, tuning and maintenance,
analyzing and diagnosing problems, and formulating solutions.
=95 Staging and testing of production servers
=95 Manage vendor relation****ps, 3rd party service contracts,
outsourcing and contractors

=95 Intimate knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 server systems understands
paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what
device drivers do, file system concepts), can use performance analysis
to tune systems.
=95 Solid knowledge of current IT technologies across a wide variety of
areas, including server-grade hardware (RAIDs, multi-core systems,
etc).
=95 Experience managing systems in co-location hosted facilities
=95 Solid working experience with IIS5/6, ASP and ASP.NET based
websites.
=95 Strong knowledge and experience in administration, sup****t and
troubleshooting mail servers (IIS-based and others), DNS servers and
intimate knowledge of the SMTP protocol and email RFC.
=95 Strong knowledge of network topologies, network protocols, internet
technologies and Cisco routers and switches.
=95 A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing
environment concepts; understands principles of client/server
programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system
layouts, high traffic/high availability networking concepts like load
balancing, clustering, VLAN and subnet configuration, configuration
and usage of common networking services (DHCP, DNS, LDAP) as well as
equipment like routers, firewalls, switches and VPNs (Cisco, IPSec,
PPTP, iptables)
=95 Strong OS and application scripting skills
=95 Experience monitoring web server performance
=95 Good understanding of database sup****t, operation, Oracle and/or MS
SQL server administration
=95 Excellent oral and written communication skills
=95 Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines and deal
with multiple concurrent tasks
=95 Adaptability and flexibility
Educational and Experience Requirements
=95 Post secondary certificate or degree in computer science or
equivalent experience
=95 Technology Certifications (MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, A+)
=95 Minimum 3 years of system implementation administration experience
in a position comparable to that described in the Essential Functions
section

=95 Experience with EMC SAN configuration and management
=95 Experience with Juniper appliances
=95 Exposure to ITIL or COBIT
