Position: Infrastructure Engineer - WebSphere, MQ Administration

Position Type: Permanent

Location: Toronto, ON

Key Accountabilities / Activities:

Provide subject matter expertise to routine projects/initiatives as they 
relate to the design, implementation and sup****t of infrastructure 
technology in a multi platform environment.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES:

..Provide technical guidance regarding standards and best practices to 
infrastructure teams during infrastructure design and build phases of 
initiatives/projects.
..Implement standards and roadmaps for hardware and software . Provide
input 
and recommendations on infrastructure standards for initiatives based on 
area of expertise.
..Analyze studies regarding system usage, make recommendations for 
improvements, and determine infrastructure system requirements.
..Analyze, and test emerging hardware and infrastructure software
solutions 
for continuous improvement.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

-Expert Knowlege and experience of WebSphere MQ Administration


..SUN/Solaris as the hardware/operating systems of choice (& some IBM/NT)
..Unix Administration Skills

Key for this Role - Infrastructure Administration Experience in one or
more 
of
.. iPlanet Web Server
.. Siteminder
.. BEA Weblogic (WLS, WLI, ****tal)
.. IBM Websphere (MQ, Application Server)

..Technical Troubleshooting-Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques
for 
anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, 
application or operational) problems.

for 
effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and 
perspectives when solving problems.

JOB COMPLEXITIES/CHALLENGES:

..Resolving moderately complex technical issues by pulling anecdotal and 
factual information from a number of sources in order to formulate a root 
cause.
..Refining business requirements, converting them to technical
requirements 
and devising an appropriate infrastructure solution requiring choices from

multiple technologies available.
..With general guidance from the Senior Infrastructure Engineer, ensuring 
that solutions are within the guidelines of security/audit standards and 
industry best practice.
..Developing designs and solutions in unique environments, requiring 
extension and customizing of each solution.
..Remaining current with business needs, evolving technological products
and 
features, ever changing business needs and modifications to internal 
standards and industry best practice.
..Making technology decisions that determine availability of
infrastructure 
based on pre-approved guidelines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

..On call to provide sup****t for escalations
