Our client has the following op****tunity on a contract or permanent
basis.
Position summary:
You will be responsible for configuring, monitoring, installing, and
maintaining Linux/UNIX-based servers in our production and cor****ate
environments consisting of 250+ servers. You must have the ability to
work independently as well as part of a team. You will be required to
work with other departments to ensure our servers and services meet
the needs of customers and the company.
Responsibilities:
=95Designing, securing, installing, monitoring, maintaining, and
do***enting systems and software.
=95Working with the engineering team to be proactive in improving our
network
=95Writing scripts automate daily processes.
=95Scheduling and re****ting on your activities.
=95Actively analyzing security and making suggestions for improvements.
=95Assisting with the development of new products.
=95Collecting statistics for domain websites and other systems, both NT-
and Linux-hosted sites; collecting and re****ting data related to
maintenance tasks.
=95Assisting with code releases; troubleshooting issues that do or do
not relate to code releases; testing and accepting code changes.
=95Maintaining and setting up MySQL, Oracle, and Postgres Databases.
=95Maintaining a large qmail cluster.
=95Do***enting architecture, design, procedures, checklists, and other
system related information.
=95Monitoring traffic usage for customers (web and shell servers) and
identifying potential problems.
=95Working on trouble tickets escalated from network operations.
=95Working with vendors in relation to services they provide us.
=95Building and testing large-scale, high availability, high transaction
volume Linux-based systems.
=95Maintaining web servers for ours and customer web sites.
=95Participating in on-call ****ft and emergency maintenance coverage.

familiar with the interaction between servers and services in the
present network

=95Solid do***entation skills
=95Knowledge of MS Windows, Server and MS Office
=95Some travel may be required
