Data Analyst (Jr. Programmer) Boulder, Colorado
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Collect and process energy industry data, including: * U.S. EPA CEMS
data * Historical and forecast weather data * ISO pricing and load
data * Create re****ts and procedures =96 in SQL, PLSQL, or SAS and in
the Velocity Suite =96 to ensure data quality and integrity, including
cooperative research efforts with other groups * Use SQL, PLSQL, SAS,
and/or Excel to develop, manage, and improve statistical summaries of
the hourly data * Develop and maintain testing processes to ensure
data quality * Develop and manage automated processes for data
collection/analysis for other power industry datasets * Develop and
maintain metadata structures within the Velocity Suite * Assist
Product Director to develop top notch industry software products and
customer facing studies * Sup****t Velocity Suite clients using our
database and analytical software products
Skills and Knowledge:
* Computer programming experience or training * Skills with one or
more of the following languages/software packages: PERL, IDL, PV-WAVE,
SAS, Oracle, SQL Server, C, and C++ * Experience with the Velocity
Suite is a plus. * Proven knowledge of relational databases. *
Experience working with large databases is a plus. * Good working
knowledge of SQL. * Knowledge of PLSQL is a plus. * Good working
knowledge of math, statistics, and/or economics * Extremely organized,
detailed-oriented, analytical thinker * Independent worker with
creativity to share * Strong communication and customer relations
skills
Education and Experience:
Qualified candidate must have a minimum of 2 years work experience.
