Scope of work/responsibilities:
We are seeking 4 Piping Designers to join our client's expanding
Engineering
Department. Candidates will be responsible for developing optimum piping
and
equipment layout in accordance with client's and other established
industry
standards. Individuals will check 3D piping models in an integrated CAD
environment, prepare, update and check piping deliverables including
general
arrangement and detail drawings, piping & instrumentation diagrams
(P&IDs),
isometrics and sketches, in addition to preparing material take-offs
(MTOs),
drawings lists, equipment lists, line lists and valve lists.
Required skills/qualifications:
We will consider candidates with 2+ years of process piping design and
drafting experience as we are expanding our department with multiple hires
(Int. to Sr. level). Individuals will have experience with 3Di modeling
systems, preferably Bentley PlantSpace Design Series and/or 3D
MicroStation
and have a solid understanding of ASME B31.3 Piping and API Codes.
Depending
on level of expertise, candidates may help formulate and develop
engineering
concepts associated with proposal development, design or construction,
participate in formal engineering review processes for compliance and
provide technical critiques as appropriate (i.e. standard of design,
capital
cost estimates, drawings, etc. to ensure deliverables fit purpose).
Ability
to mentor and assist draftspersons involved in the design function is an
asset.
** We are open to both permanent and contract employment. Permanent
employment is preferred.
